The Wenni reckon
time by the reign of the current Technocratic Dynasty.
The year is divided by the seasons and each season into
three 30 day cycles which follow the phases of the
moon. At the end of each third cycle of the moon
when the season ends is the Penitence. A day without
sun, as if time had stopped. A day of
Unmaking. The First Penitence is between the spring
and summer seasons, the Second Penitence is between
the summer and fall, the Third Penitence is between the
fall and winter , and lastly the High Penitence, which is
twice as long, marks the coming of the new year between
winter and spring. |
